HIGH-INTENSITY INTERVAL VS. CONTINUOUS
ENDURANCE TRAINING: PREVENTIVE EFFECTS ON
HORMONAL CHANGES AND PHYSIOLOGICAL
ADAPTATIONS IN PREDIABETES PATIENTS

While this paper is not specifically in patients with cancer, pre-diabetes, diabetes and metabolic syndrome are very common health issues for cancer management and the systemic milieu that is produces definitely increases the growth rate and likelihood of metastasis. For this reason we present this research.

The authors report that HIIT and CET were both very effective for lowering blood glucose and improving insulin resistance in people with prediabetes.

Incorporating these training methodologies into exercise prescription would seem particularly prudent for those patients who are overweight or obese and certainly for patients who are prediabetic or diabetic.
